Who we are

Founded in 2022 by Dr. Anita Turner, Florida, U.S.A.; Edna Jarrett, BA, RN, North Carolina, U.S.A and Joan Bankole-Jones, MSW, LSW, New Jersey, U.S.A. Sierra Oasis of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit organization, born out of the need to reduce teenage pregnancy in the USA and Sierra Leone, and increase safe deliveries for pregnant teenagers. We are collaborating with them to provide a safe haven, enhance their development through education and acquire sustainable employment so that they can live a viable, independent and holistic life. Our work initiates opportunities for pregnant teenagers to take control of, evaluate, advocate for and sustain their own development and surmount life challenges to achieve their goals.

OUR MISSION

To establish a safe place, comprehensive sex education, perinatal and post-natal support, tools and resources that prepare pregnant teenagers to adopt, cultivate and sustain holistic health for themselves, their children and their families.

Our vision

To empower teenagers to accomplish healthy behavioral choices, self-advocacy to ensure safe deliveries.

Goal

To enhance safe deliveries in target communities and reduce teenage pregnancy by up to 20% by 2027.
